Green Light People

I leave this weekend.

Every time I respond to the “when do you leave?” question, I almost can’t believe the words I’m saying. I’m a lot of things, but mostly just excited.

Yup, exactly like that.

Moving on!

Only a few days left before I take off and all my procrastination is coming back to get me.
A friend shared this video with me today and I can definitely get into this. South African house music, here I come!

I finally got around to doing a little packing today.

I have…alot of clothes, so it’s a little challenging trying to decide what is necessary and what I might…maybe…possibly wear. My other great love is shopping and I do it embarrassingly well. like bread in our children’s mouths
so their dreams will not reflect
the death of ours:

For those of us
who were imprinted with fear
like a faint line in the center of our foreheads
learning to be afraid with our mother’s milk

we are fearless

we’ll run
with scissors
stare down
a spitting cobra
play chicken
with a high speed train

we have known
our share of pain
swallowed a deeper
kind of poison
we are not afraid
to crash

We’ll walk
the eye of storm
call down lightning
and dare it
to touch us

Cape Town

In Cape Town on June 4, 2011 at 4:22 am

In 3 weeks I’ll be setting off on my most exciting journey to date. I’m moving to Capetown, South Africa for the summer. I started this blog to capture my experience, but this is much more than simply travelling to another country for 3 or 4 months. It truly is about living out your dreams and having the courage to Read the rest of this entry »
